Your Spirit Allies hard at work.

I was originally going to write this in my personal journal, but thought it may be better for others to read, and maybe find some evidence of your Spirit Guides and Guardians working in your life.

I'm sure that most of you, like myself, are tired of hearing about COVID-19 and all the shelter-in-place orders as every other story in the News. I was thinking this morning while in the shower, strangely one of the places where I seem to be able to easily connect to the spirits, the other being in my car driving. Anyway, I was thinking about how things have changed now that I am working from home. From the time I started working at my current employer, we were set up to be able to access what we needed to from home, as there were times we would launch new services after normal business hours, or there would be things that would pop up over the weekend that would need to be managed, or even in-climate weather conditions or other life events that required the ability to work from home. So for me the option to work from home has been available for the last 5 years, if only used a handful of times. However this is where things get rather interesting ...

Nine months ago, in June of 2019 I got a call from the Rental Office of our apartment complex stating that I was selected from a drawing and won a prize for completing a survey. It didn't seem like much at the time. It was just a $150 gift card for Ikea. We tried to find things to buy with the gift card but never really committed to anything so the gift card sat. Looking back it is a good thing it did, but I'll get to that later.

In early October, about a month or so before the first mentions of the Coronavirus, an acquaintance in the building moved out. He was moving to Center City Philly and doing a major downsize. I did not know him as well as I would have liked, knowing what I do now. Luckily my husband had formed some kind of friendship with him ... enough so that when he left he offered what he was not taking with him to us. We got a major update to our home entertainment, kitchenware, and I got some top-tier computer equipment. Again I did not know how important this would be at the time, it was just exciting, and I just considered it an amazing birthday gift.

Now we had a lot of accumulated things in our apartment at this time and not much space so we needed to cycle some things out to feel less claustrophobic. This included a second love seat that was taking up space in the living room that we found a good home for. Now the computer equipment I got was all in perfect working condition, only a few minor things were missing. I was going to wait to set it up after we moved out of this unit to a bigger space, but the spirits had other plans. My faithful MacBook of many years started to slow to a crawl and was being unusable, and I started to feel this compelling feeling that I needed to setup the acquired computer equipment. The Friday before my birthday, I was talking about this computer at work and that I was missing a hard drive, keyboard, and mouse but had everything else ... I was surprised when our IT guy said there was perfectly good keyboards and mice, as well as working hard drives removed from dead machines that they were just going to send for recycling, he offered them to me. The only thing missing now was a place to set it up.

Remember earlier that $150 Ikea gift card that I got but never used ... well I found the perfect desk and office chair that came to a grand total of $151.18 (with tax). I picked up the desk and chair, assembled it, and set up the computer equipment on my birthday. There was a perfect spot for this setup right where that second love seat was previously. There was still one thing missing to the would make my home setup virtually identical to my work set up and that was a mounting arm for the dual monitors. That I finally purchased from Amazon the first pay cycle in March and again it was one of those feeling that I needed to do it now. So just a few weeks before the shelter-in-place order came down I had a place to work from home that would not impact my efficiency.

This all had me thinking about how much more difficult this time would be had these seemingly random, but interconnected, events not played out exactly as they did, when they did. As they say hind-sight is 20/20 ... well when I look back though my journals and see how things that seemed random, things that did not seem connected at the time, all linked together in just the right way to put me exactly where I needed to be exactly when I needed to be there. This has happened repeatedly, evidently, at least 10 or more other times in my life. Even looking back at the all bad things, failed relationships, a divorce, broken family ties, moving from house to apartment, to house, to a series of apartments, jobs changed and lost. Friends made, friends lost, even the drastic loss of my social life when moving to New Jersey, it all had a part to play to get me to where I am right in this moment. Even now in this very difficult time of COVID-19 in a few months or years to come, I for one know I will look back on this and realize that this positioned me exactly where I needed to be for where ever I am at that future time.

In meditation, it is extremely difficult to see what you don't understand. The same is true in life. We tend to get so caught up in the here and now that we lose sight of what is to come. The dark times always pass, we come out stronger on the end. Have trust in your Spirit Allies that there is a plan and they are always working to put things in the right place at the right time for you in your journey in this life.

I encourage you to look back at the things and events in your own life that seemed to be random or painful, but had they not happened when they did you would not be where you are now. Give thanks to and honor your Spirit Allies and Parton Deities for all the hard work they do for you.
