In light of current events throughout the United States where there now seem to be daily protests and lawsuits against Government officials to re-open the economy. I wanted to take a few moments to express my views and feelings to the Coven. As a witch it is our duty to promote and maintain the balance that is essential to life on our World. We are Guides, Teachers, Healers, and Leaders. Our duty is to be informed and educated in not just the Magickal arts, but we must be educated in science and logic. In this time I for one am looking to the past for guidance on the future. Patterns tend to repeat themselves many time over during the course of history, mainly because those who remember pass on, only stories remain, and those who follow disregard those stories and history repeats itself.

We are at a point of history repeating itself. In 1918 the Spanish Flu Pandemic killed millions world wide. The first wave was bad, killing thousands of people. Stay-at-home and Social Distancing Orders were put into place then as a way to stop the spread. As intended the spread slowed ... however there was a push to get back to normal life … but it was too soon, the spread was not stopped only slowed. People returned to work, to entertainment, to "normal life". The second wave hit and this time hundreds of thousands died. The second wave was far worse then the first wave because people had a false sense of security by returning to normal life. The parallels at this time are too close to ignore.

I urge everyone to be present in the fact that this crisis is not over and unfortunately the leadership in the current White House Administration are blinded by Poll numbers and pure greed to have the health and well-being of the people in mind. I urge everyone to stay vigilant. If you need to return to work, if you need to be exposed to people in potentially hazardous environments, do what you can to protect yourself and your family. Wear protective gear. As witches we are very creative and resourceful, if needed make your own Personal Protective Equipment. Regularly cast and re-enforce protective shields around yourself to keep viruses away. Continue to take the protective steps from the last two months until the second wave is over. We can learn from the mistakes of the past. All of this has happened before, it does not have to happen again, as long as we learn.

Be safe, Continue social distancing when possible, and when it is not possible take steps to keep yourself safe. We will get through this.
